Meet Our Dentists!
Dr. Emily Sewell
Originally from Scranton, PA, Dr. Emily Sewell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery, graduating magna cum laude and third in her class, from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. For those seeking a perfect smile, Dr. Sewell is Invisalign certified and enjoys using the therapeutic effects of BOTOX/Xeomin and filler treatments. When Dr. Sewell isn’t working at Annapolis Dental Care, she enjoys exploring national parks, golfing, and shopping. She currently resides in Pasadena with her husband, Chris, and her lovely cat, Jinx.
Dr. Canizales
Dr. Canizales was originally born in Caracas, Venezuela, and immigrated to the United States in the fall of 1987 with his family. As a young boy, his family instilled in him the significance of education, perseverance, respect, integrity, and loyalty, among other values. To this day, Dr. Canizales’ values guide his actions to help him better serve his patients and community. This led him to attend Wheeling University, where he received his Bachelor of Science. He also obtained a master’s in microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University. In 2011, he graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Since his dental school graduation, Dr. Canizales has acquired additional training in Invisalign, BOTOX, full-mouth rehabilitation, implant dentistry, and obstructive sleep apnea.

After 20 wonderful years of serving the Annapolis community, I am writing to share some important news regarding the future of Annapolis Dental Care. It has been an honor and privilege to be your dentist, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and loyalty you have shown me over the years.
I am announcing my retirement from dentistry, effective immediately. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes with mixed emotions as I look back on the countless relationships and experiences that have enriched my career.
I am pleased to introduce Dr. Emily Sewell and Dr. Yeremi Canizales, who will be taking over the practice. Both Dr. Sewell and Dr. Canizales are highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated professionals who share my commitment to providing exceptional dental care.
Dr. Sewell brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of dentistry. Her gentle approach and dedication to patient care ensure that you will continue to receive the highest standard of treatment.
