Routine Dental Care Check Ups Include a Thorough Examination of Your Teeth
Before any tools are implemented or placed into your mouth, you can expect your highly-skilled dental hygienist to thoroughly visually examine your teeth to search for specific areas that need attention. Afterwards, your dental hygienist will work with you to ensure your comfort while you’re reclined in your dental chair. Your dental hygienist will use a set of clean, freshly-unwrapped tools to tackle any tartar build-up within your mouth. Then, your teeth will be flossed to perfection and polished with a fluoride-based substance to ensure optimum oral hygiene.
Communication Between Your Dental Hygienist and Dentist
If any abnormalities are noticed within your mouth by the dental hygienist, he or she will communicate their findings to the dentist. Or, if your teeth appear to be thoroughly healthy, your hygienist will also communicate this to your dentist. Your dentist will then enter your room and examine your teeth to gain any further information regarding your oral health. If suspected cavities are discovered, an X-ray might be ordered or you’ll be scheduled for a future filling. If you’re in the clear, your dentist will send you off on your merry way with a routine check-up scheduled 6 months down the road.
What Happens Next?
Following your routine check-up, you’ll be instructed to turn over any copay that you might owe dependent upon your insurance coverage. In most instances, clients are usually covered for routine dental check-ups or owe a small amount of pocket depending on their dental insurance plan. After you’ve paid up or have discovered that you do not owe anything out of pocket, you can have peace of mind that your next appointment is scheduled and we’ll see you then!
